Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Helsinki hosted a presentation on Serbia's tourism potential. The event was organized in cooperation with the Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) and with the support of the Finnish Association of Travel Agencies (SMAL).
Opening the event, Ambassador Aleksandar Janković highlighted the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Finland, noting that this year marks 95 years of diplomatic relations. He spoke in detail about Serbia's economy, measures to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and efforts to boost economic growth. The ambassador also emphasized numerous opportunities for cooperation in tourism and increasing tourist exchange, pointing out that the number of Finnish visitors to Serbia has been growing steadily since 2021.
TOS representative Ž. Pudar presented Serbia’s rich tourism potential, with a special focus on its history, tradition, culture, natural beauty, and renowned gastronomy. She also highlighted Serbia's position as Europe’s fastest-growing tourist destination and discussed the country’s expanding tourism infrastructure.
The event featured presentations from international companies involved in connecting Finland with Serbia in the tourism sector.
Following the presentation, a cocktail reception was held, showcasing Serbian wines, rakija, and traditional cuisine. Renowned Finnish sommelier T. Jokinen spoke about the quality and unique characteristics of Serbian wines, as well as the significance of events such as the Wine Vision fair. Attendees also had the opportunity to watch TOS promotional films about Serbia.
