A reception was held at the Embassy to mark the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia. The honored guest at the reception was the President of the Finnish Parliament, Jussi Halla-aho.
 
After the anthems of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Finland were played, Ambassador Aleksandar Janković, in his welcoming speech, emphasized the significance of the First Serbian Uprising and the Sretenje Constitution for Serbia. He also highlighted the country’s key internal and foreign policy priorities, achievements in the reform process and development, as well as Serbia's firm commitment to further strengthening its traditionally friendly relations and cooperation with Finland in all areas of mutual interest.
 
In his address, which began with greetings in Serbian, the President of the Finnish Parliament, Mr. Jussi Halla-aho, congratulated Serbia on Statehood Day. He shared his positive impressions from his visit to Serbia the previous year, expressed gratitude for the hospitality, and emphasized Finland’s strong support for the further strengthening of Serbian-Finnish relations and cooperation.
 
The reception was attended by representatives of the Finnish Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other Finnish institutions, a large number of ambassadors and diplomats, representatives of the academic and scientific community, business and financial circles, as well as Serbian citizens living and working in Finland.
